A replacement dwelling in a leafy suburb of North London, we designed this house for a young Asian entrepreneur and his wife. The client travels extensively for business staying in many world class hotels and thus our brief was to create a home with a high specification that incorporated the best of what he had experienced, particularly in the bathrooms. Our client has a taste for tropical designs and the challenge for our architectural team was to incorporate this theme whilst ensuring that the house is still in keeping with style of the local area. The result is a modern five bedroom, five bathroom home that is entirely rendered in off-white with a modest frontage that gives way to a modern glass exterior at the rear. At the front of the building, we have incorporated a meditation area that projects over the entrance. We wanted to make the most of the garden views and ensure that light flooded into the interior so we created a stepped design to incorporate balconies and terraces leading out into the garden through large glazed elements.
